Applying for a dedicated CLP meter at an estate — three steps

A bay with its own meter means a CLP application the owner has to submit personally — we can't press the button for you. This lays out the three steps: which form gets stamped by management, exactly what to put in the contractor fields, and what to send us once the deposit notice arrives. For estate bays; village and detached houses work differently.

EV CASE LIMITED
電郵 inbox@evcases.com

Scope: estate bays. Village houses and detached houses follow a different route — the supply point is different and the rising-main owner is usually the owner themselves. See the village and detached house procedure.

A dedicated tariff meter for your bay means a CLP application that the applicant has to submit personally. That isn't us passing the work back — CLP's online form verifies the applicant's identity, and an application submitted by the contractor gets bounced, which only slows things down.

What we handle: preparing the paperwork, filling in the technical fields, and every bit of follow-up and scheduling afterwards. What you handle is three steps.

Step 1 — fill in the form, then get it stamped by management

A few fields get filled in wrong constantly, so to be explicit:

Field What goes in it
Rising main owner The property management office
Applicant The owner or the tenant — you
Supply address The car park space address, not your flat

The rising-main owner is the one people get wrong most. On an estate the rising main belongs to management — not to you, and not to us.

Once it's filled in, take it to the management office to be stamped. Their chop is what says they know about and accept a meter being added for that bay.

Step 2 — upload it from your phone (the applicant has to do this personally)

Follow this link and upload a photo of the stamped form:

CLP — EV charging power supply services →

There's a contractor details section on that form. Copy these in exactly:

Field Value
Company name EV CASE LIMITED
Email inbox@evcases.com
Meter application To be confirmed
Amperage To be confirmed

"To be confirmed" on those last two is correct — don't leave them blank. The actual amperage depends on what CLP says is available at the site, and that part is between us and them.

Step 3 — when the deposit notice arrives, send us two things

About five working days after submission, CLP posts you a deposit notice. Once you've paid it, WhatsApp us:

  • the application number, which begins 2010
  • the applicant's full name

With those two we can chase the progress on your behalf and book the survey and the installation.

⚠️ One thing not to do

Don't book an installation date with CLP yourself.

Once CLP schedules, the contractor, the meter, the cabling and estate access all have to line up on the same day. If you've booked a slot we can't meet, rescheduling puts you back in the queue — and this is the single most common reason a job drags.

Leave the scheduling to EV CASE. 🙏🏻

Do you even need a dedicated meter?

If your bay can run off your existing meter on a shared supply, you may not need a dedicated one at all. But be aware: a shared supply is something CLP will tell the owner to undo if they see it. Which route suits you is best decided after we've seen photos of the meter and the bay.
