Mounting height had to thread a needle — above the bumper, below the isolator, with the lead coiling clear of the floor. Paperwork in three days, installed inside a fortnight, metered the same day.

Parkside Villa had completed its EHSS works. A junction box and isolator were already high on the wall beside the bay, so the supply was there — what remained was the unit and the meter.
Unlike the Regal Court job, this isolator sat high, and there was a painted band low on the wall. Mounting height became the one decision worth thinking about.
The hard part: one height satisfying three constraints
Above the bumper. Reversing in, the gap between a car's rear and the wall is usually smaller than people picture.
Below the isolator. Power entering from above keeps the run straight; the other way round adds a bend at the gland.
The lead must not reach the floor. A seven-metre lead coiled too low ends up under a tyre.
It ended up directly under the isolator and above the painted band. The lead coils under the body with the connector on a wall hook — high enough that nothing sweeps it while parking.

The screen reads 32A on standby. Isolator above, charger below, lead coiled beneath it — all three on one vertical line, which is both the shortest run and the easiest thing to inspect later.
Who this is useful for
