麗豪閣・EHSS 完成後自己揀機Regal Court: EHSS done, own choice of charger
屋苑已完成環保署 EHSS 工程,車位有現成刀掣。業主原本以為要用屋苑指定的機同月費計劃,實際上刀掣之後那一段可以自己決定。一口價全包,當日掛錶當日可充。The estate had finished its EPD-funded EHSS works and the bay had an isolator. The owner assumed a management-nominated charger and a monthly plan were compulsory; everything downstream of the isolator was in fact his to choose. One all-in price, metered and charging the same day.

Regal Court had completed the infrastructure works funded by the EPD's EV-charging at Home Subsidy Scheme (EHSS). The isolator was already on the wall beside the bay and the trunking was run. What was missing was a charger and a meter.
The hard part wasn't technical
The owner's first question was whether, since the estate had been through EHSS, he was obliged to use the management office's nominated supplier.
He wasn't. EHSS funds the infrastructure — the run from the switch room to the bay, the isolator, the metering position. Everything downstream of that isolator is the owner's call: which unit, which contractor, how the meter is applied for.
Management usually suggests one convenient package. That's an option, not a rule. Having compared them, the owner took our all-in price.
What the one price covered
The charger (Wall Case 3)
A dedicated meter, installed
The WR1 completion certificate
HK$20M third-party works insurance
Two years' warranty, one-for-one on non-accidental faults
The installation proposal for the management office
What we did
Checked the isolator's rating first. We measured the rated current and the cable size and confirmed a sustained 7kW draw was within them — no upgrade needed. Get this wrong and you find out after the unit is on the wall.
Prepared the proposal and the meter paperwork. The proposal went to management for sign-off while we filled in the technical fields of the meter application; the owner only had to press submit from his own CLP account. About three working days.
Mounted, connected, tested, metered. Wall mount, connected to the existing isolator, electrical tests run and records issued, then a date booked with the utility for the dedicated meter.
The outcome
Mounted in the morning, metered in the afternoon, live the same day — about two weeks from accepted quote to charging, because the slow parts were already done by the estate.
The screen reads 32A with both light bars green: idle and ready. The owner plugs in when he gets home, with no further trip to the management office.
Who this is useful for
If your estate has posted a notice about completing EHSS, or there's already an isolator beside your bay, you're probably in the same position.
Two things to confirm first: that the isolator belongs to your bay, and whether there's a meter behind it. Send us a photo of both and we can tell you straight away.
